Simply put, one of the best boot socks ever made. I rotated 5 pair during a 1 year tour in Iraq. They held up fine for the year during long patrols, even when wet. Well made and comfortable with "no blister" toe seams. If you need the best sock to wear with your combat boots, you can be sure these socks will serve you well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best pair of socks I've ever owned, military or civilian, January 16, 2011
I have had 6 pairs of these socks that I've rotated and worn every single day (except for Sunday) for about 4 years now. Half as a joke, I even wear them with my dress slacks to work (I dress business casual at work), mostly because I've never really seen the need to buy other socks for work and these are so comfortable. I'm barely getting ready to rotate out 4 socks, so just 2 pair's worth, that have gotten holes in the side. If you look at the picture, you can see there is a sort of a seem that comes from the heel towards the ankle bone. That is the place where my socks have started to separate. I'm sure I could tell the difference in the padding if I put on a brand new pair of the same kind of socks, but from my current perspective, they seem like they haven't lost any of their padding or softness over all of the years. They are also awesome at controlling odor, which I assume is mostly because they wick the moisture away from your skin.

I bought my first pair... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great socks, December 7, 2011

When I enlisted in the Marines we had to suffer through long hauls wearing crappy socks as well as terribly uncomfortable boots (all leather combat boots or jungle boots with no arch support and no real substantive padding). Talk about pain and agony when you have to haul 80+ pounds around or blister city when we did our pre-deployment 25 milers. Anyways, it wasn't until about 16 years later that I came across quality boots and Fox River socks. These socks definitely help keep down blisters but I have yet to find a sock that really 'wicks' away moisture and keeps the moisture away. If you have ever spent time in the desert or any other moderately warm climate hiking or humping-a-pack while wearing military issue or other quality boots, then you should know that it's almost impossible to prevent your feet from staying wet with sweat which, in turn, can cause blistering as well as bunching. Overall, these sock are my sock-of-choice and, like another review stated, I have the same... Read more
